Katy Martinelli, MHS, PA-C is a 2002 graduate of the Duke University Physician Assistant program. She attended PA school after receiving an undergraduate degree in Biology from Wake Forest University in 1997.

Upon graduating from the Duke PA program she worked for four years under the guidance and mentorship of Dr. Jones. Her focus during that time was sports medicine and total joint replacement. She then worked for two years with an orthopaedic surgeon in Durham who specialized in reconstructive shoulder surgery. She is excited about returning to her "roots" with Dr. Jones at Impact Orthopaedics.

Katy has always been grateful for the mentorship she received from Dr. Jones early in her career and therefore has enjoyed mentoring and teaching students at the Duke PA program. She also lectures at the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistant's annual conferences.

Katy is also very active in the Physician Assistant community at the state level. For the past six years she has served as the Chair of the Government Affairs Committee of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants and has focused on legislative and reimbursement issues that affect PAs. She also currently serves as the Vice President of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants.

Katy is NCCPA certified and has a North Carolina Medical License.
